Recently, it was reported that the rate of carbon dioxide emission during the last seven years exceeded even the IPCC's worst-case scenario. Both Barack Obama and John McCain have offered their support to global warming legislation in the past, but climate legislation continues to stall, as it has for more than a decade. Why? In large part, because of an expensive, prolonged propaganda campaign waged by producers of big oil. And what did they look to for inspiration? Big tobacco.

  • it will be. surely you will never be honest or good therefore you die.

  • i will rip a whole in the earth and dump sulfur into the air until they have everyone of you shit tools hung up and burned.

  • LOL!

yah and just who is the SENATOR behind that BS???

you talk about "government agenda" LOL!

  • why don't you ask, hmm lemme see, how about ALL THE MAJOR SCIENTIFIC INSTITUTIONS - they all CONCLUDE MAN-MADE GLOBAL WARMING

    google: PHILIP COONEY

you will see the TRUE government agenda

  • LIE!

it is NOT green energy technology that is the problem, it is the fossil fuel industry's CAMPAIGN OF LIES that is the problem

  • One example of Congress getting the other opinion: The US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works posted a report on the US government web site called "U.S. Senate Report: Over 400 Prominent Scientists Disputed Man-Made Global Warming Claims in 2007". If you google it you might understand why I am skeptical that this might be a UN carbon tax scam. If you want to focus on the most toxic air pollutant go after mercury emissions from coal plants - thats an undisputed toxin.

  • sorry, ran out of room in the comment... But really, I can't find any scientific data "proving" that CO2 emissions are causing the average temp increase on the planet. The only two that have some validity and long term data backing them up are the Indian study and the evaporation pan study, but even those two are still theoretical. Just trying to keep an open mind -- I don't trust any government agendas.

  • Sorry I don't know what FOS is. Oil has to go, I'm not an "oil moron". But physics is physics. I am researching a number of technologies in power generation that are fossil-free generators, however many alternatives such as hydrogen, ethanol, biofuel, wind and solar are not yet energy positive. (they're net ROI negative enviro-nomically). Nuclear and unfortunately coal are the best we have now. There are 2 R&D technologies I've been watching that are promising: both kinetic oscillation.

  • yah right....i can tell by your wording that you are FOS! google it!

maybe they should BAN carbon straight up, that would shut u OIL MORONS up

  • Can you please provide a link or document showing this conclusion? Who are the "scientists" (names) who have formed a consensus (other than the UN carbon tax group)? I am not trying to be an antagonist -- I sincerely would like to know where this information is. Thank you.
