Eric David ,Original Art Video, Miniature Fine Drawings(...
This is a video of recent, original, miniature fine art drawings by Eric David. These are India and Archival Inks on paper, created 2010-2011, and are part of a new series of work. Eric David has been included in National Shows, performed private and public comissions, including design work for the Northeast Ohio College and University of Medicine(NEOUCOM) and for a Cleveland public pool, and currently teaches Painting and Drawing for the City of Cuyahoga Falls. About the Work These Drawings are highly personal to me, in the way that, which I work on them, I find to be a form of meditation or self-introspection. I see these Cities, These buildings, in their detail and iconography as Temples, temples of thought,or awareness, or self directed inner dialogue of critique and/or favor. I typically begin these with very little physical preliminary work, maybe some photoshop sketches, but often straight into the drawing, with as little decided upon as possible (Maybe a concept of a featured type of building). I utilize a block in and freehand technique, starting from the lower left corner, usually, and working my way through and around, mapping out my big shapes, and detailing the surroundings as I go, which often dictates to the theme of the piece. I try to let line and form emerge, and honestly spend as much time working out the details in my mind as I spend executing them. The finest pen I use is one tenth the size of the mechanical pencil I use for blocking-in, ( a Sakura Pigma Micron 005),and it is in these smallest details, that I find the poignant thoughts in my head becoming prominent, as I for example, ink in an area without the aid of drafting tools, finding that my freehand, though, relatively true to my intention,at a close interval, still shows need for even more care to be taken into consideration. I find the imperfections, which given more time and thought, could have been even more tersely placed, maybe even a little more well-versed..and I find myself giving a little more to it the next time, hopefully finding my truer path and catabolically shifting my thoughts into tangible and recognizable forms , all the while pondering the nature of the gifts and understanding I still may have yet to receive.
if its not to much to ask can leave your input on my videos it would mean alot to me
