yeah, except the next day they took down megaupload to show that they can do whatever they want, bill passed or not.

@ununhexium well right, but the takedown of Megaupload was pretty justified. the people at the top were running a multi-million dollar conspiracy based around knowingly pirating material. Sure, to most of us they were just a file-sharing website, but some people made a fortune off of it behind the scenes. That's significantly different from taking down a site like Mediafire, explicitly for the reason of having copyrighted material on the site.
