In order to dream, we must wake up first - Chinese proverb

Il était une fois...

...a lonely soul called Aurora,
who dreamed without closing her eyes,
she had amazing possibilities of abstraction
(some days seemed to her in another colour)

She saw what no one else saw
but she didn't have what everyone else had: a voice.
The only one she could hear was inside her head
...a little voice she translated to be her conscience

Sometimes, under a porcelain sky
she read between clouds to interpret them,
or went out floating barefoot at dawn
without fear that a cold would make her sick

[Because imagination is to her as the moon is to the sea]
and her memories are the postcards
she has collected since she was a little girl

Inside her, the voice said:
Why so much introspection, Aurora?
If there's so much to dream about outside?

Start taking polaroids with your memory:
of every tonality, every texture and every shape,
because time always leaves in a train to the west
that makes our memories dissolve forever

And do not worry
if too many questions explode in your head,
for reality works with certain mechanisms
(which are not impossible, just different)

Focus your imagination towards the outside
where you don't float nor travel in carousels,
but you feel the soft claustrophobia of being alive
and the naive pleasure you sometimes get when you cry

Then wake up, Aurora!

Every contradictory detail,
every image you have created,
were not the remains of a fire
but you... scattered all around

Aurora stopped for a while
before coming out to the surface

Thus, her outer voice ignited and said:
"No more silence, for I am awake
...I guess"

And that was how the story of Aurora then started:

The beginning

"A Midsummer Afternoon's Dream"
