  • In my opinion, Andrea Martin was the second funniest woman ever on TV. And Catherine O'hara the third. Thank goodness we had SCTV to showcase their comedy.

  • @redgreenjr And who was the first? Just curious - LOL.

  • @chalomirof63 Why, Lucy, of course. I would say that one Andrea plus one Catherine equals one Lucy. With some left over. Lucy was funny just being Lucy. Andrea and Catherine were the funniest character actors. I am hoping they release more SCTV on DVD, but it doesn't seem as if anyone is interested.

  • @redgreenjr Lucille Ball - of course??? Okay. I guess that's a matter of taste. I actually never found Lucy particularly funny, but, as I said, it's a matter of taste.

  • @chalomirof63 Well, sure, they've run her show ad nauseum over the years, and I'm not all that crazy about her either, but if you watch her closely, she really did set the standard that many tried to emulate. Like Andrea and Catherine.

  • @redgreenjr That may be true. But, that being said, I guess you'd have to ask "Andrea" and "Catherine" who actually inspired them. We can only speculate. These two had tons of subtlety; Lucy's comedy was very broad.

  • Andrea Martin is remarkable. She could make herself so sexy one minute and so homely the next and always be funny. Mo Collins of MADtv was the same way.

  • Edith Prickley had kids? And we never did see Mr. Prickley on the show did we?

  • She is hilarious.
