A lob serve is often the preferred method of an open player because you have 1 (One) serve unlike all other leagues (A, B, C, D) where you have 2 (two) serves. The idea behind a lob serve is that if it is at head height and doesnt come off the back wall then they dont have an offensive shot and they have to return a defensive shot. Some lob serves are aces too if you can do it right (wall papers to the backhand corner are really hard to dig out). Hope that helps.
