This is the 2nd of 7 clips of the WEJ TANF Briefing held in the House Rayburn Building in Washington, D.C. on Feb. 25, 2010. Speakers in this clip include Christina Schnetzer of the Ohio Empowerment Coalition discussing the dangers of welfare marriage promotion programs, given that two-thirds of TANF mothers are domestic violence victims, and Brenda Beal with Community Voices Heard in New York talking about the indignity of unpaid workfare programs in New York City.
The briefing was organized by Women for Economic Justice, a national network of low-income women's organizations working to make ending poverty the goal of the reauthorization of Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), or welfare reform, in 2010-2011.
The briefing, along with a question and answer session with the audience, was approximately 90 minutes long. This You Tube video of the briefing consists of seven 10-12 minute clips.

It constantly amazes me that I as a taxpayer should fund people who can't/won't control their own fertility, while requiring the most public assistance in our society. I'm sorry, but I can't justify paying for your collective bad judgement any longer. Would seem the world economy can't tolerate it either. Wake up !!!
