Rosamund Clifford was the mistress of Henry the Second of England and died back in 1176, supposedly poisoned by Henry's wife Queen Eleanor. I've always liked this ballad ever since I first heard it sung by Bob Stewart back in the 80's. Accompanied on Andrew Whale 5 string banjo tuned GCGCD.
