Prep school for 'gels'. I think all the teachers wore tweed. I was here from 4-10. It was long enough:-) The only good thing I enjoyed were the lessons outdoors in the summer under the tree, the day trips away from it and the festivals. I never enjoyed the hymns. I think I was athiest at 8. I did however, like Morning is Broken which we seemed to sing all the time. We even had to curtsey, which was absolutely ridiculous. I wonder if they still do that. It was strict. When I was there we had blackboards and old fashioned desks with inkwells. They didn't discover I couldn't see the blackboard until I was ten which affected my schooling. I wonder what Ofsted would have said. IQuite amazing, considering how much money my parents pumped into the place. I think all kids should have their eyes tested.
They produced someone really left-ring - probably not something they wanted on their books:-) I thank them for this. As for teaching, I think the best form of teaching is private tuition. I think kids are more successful and happier.
Yes, lovely in the summer. In the summer we used to go outside and have lessons under the tree.
