  • Have you figured out a way to "catch" the peanuts a little better as they come out? Must be a bear cleaning up the ones that fall on the ground...Maybe a more curved shute would work, I dunno, a piece of pvc pipe cut in half, or maybe a tube put into the opening and ending right in the bucket?

  • Peanuts are still covered with a red outer skin after the shells are removed. They remain neatly packaged inside until the skins are roasted off for further processing (Peanut butter, peanut oil, flour etc)

  • slap some clipless pedals on it and its good to go! thats cool

  • We'd like to get Lance Armstrong to Shell a ton in Sudan... For that, we'd certainly put clipless pedals on ;)

  • Sweet!

  • Thanks! We appreciate your comments

  • Why are the nuts flying everywhere, seems like it needs some work.

  • I think it's pretty apparent that their numbers are based on the worldwide population, stupid.

  • IF you mean what percentage of nuts come out broken, we have the incredibly low breakage rate of 5-8% better than large industrial machinery which can often break up to 20%. This means that with this machine most of the seeds can be replanted and by not breaking the nuts, we reduce the risk to molds like aphlotoxins.

  • 4 Billion hours...I doubt that. That would mean that about 1/4 of the entire population(650mil) of Africa does nothing but shell peanuts all year long. And 500mil people rely on peanuts? 77% of Africa relies on peanuts for food?

Neat idea, but your "facts" need a little work.

  • what percentage is wasted? It looks very inefficient, but I can't truly tell.
