The music SUCKS in this new version!!! The old music is what made Spaceship Earth!!!

The new music grows on you after a few rides.

However, I do agree. The music from the last version was superior, and heavily increased the attraction's appeal. I noticed they dumbed-down the dialogue a bit too.

I was a part of the "re"-opening team for this ride, and while I did very much LOVE the music before the refurbishment, the new music was actually written with the common cast member in mind. After spending a 3rd shift evening with the gentleman that composed that piece, I ask what his feeling was towards it, and he told me he wrote it as something that eventually the cast could tune out and not hear after a while working there. Which I REALLY appreciate. =0)

That's interesting, and I'm glad it helps. I know how even just half hour of of area music can become irritating if it loops like that.

I miss Irons too, along with other things... but the spirit of Spaceship Earth lives on.

May the "Giant Golf Ball" last 100 years. :)

one question, i havent been on spaceship earth in several years (it was closed when we went last). Is the old communications tunnel where the matrx-like numbers are whizzing by in this video, or was it on the decent? i cant remember, and i loved the music from that part fo the ride.

The matrix scene replaced the old communications tunnel with all the led/laser/neon lighting FX. All music has been replaced. I can't put a link up here, but if you want the old music, email me at castmemberinformer(at)yahoo(do­t)com

I totally agree with you about the dialogue as well. It's severly dumbed down. Makes me miss Jeremy Irons.
