JUNE 1974 THE PLANETS WERE ALIGNED FOR THE BEST MUSIC.. CHAKA WAS IN TOWN AT THE SAME TIME MARIA WAS QUEEN OF TOP FORTY..WHY NOT MELANIE.. when i see these retrospectives..like woodstock and that pbs folk series thing.. wherre is joni mitchell and melanie.

Don't know why Midnight At The Oasis hit so big? Maria, those guitar licks by Amos Garrett and your voice killed! That's why. It's not rocket science. Though I loved that entire album, Midnight At The Oasis is a definitive moment in that period in time.

Well... I was 9 when this came out and I didn't know quite of what she was talking about in the song but I did have a crush on a classmate who's name happened to be Maria. Maybe a video should be done for this song. I'll be the star.

Maria was an absolute BABE and Midnight at the Oasis is definitely one of my all time favorite songs - soooo unique, with one of the most original guitar solos ever! Thanks for the memories Maria.

It's funny to hear her say she didn't know what it was about Midnight at the Oasis that appeled to so many people. It's that amazing vocal she laid down that meshes so well with that smooth guitar. Just a perfect song.

She has such a unque voice. In 1973-1974 she had a great body. She had really had a sexy booty, ha ha and could really play her instruments and a very unque voice. Love you Maria
