That's a good tactic starting at 2:29. They flirt with her, act interested in her dancing, kinda fight for her attention; she becomes invested in keeping the back-'n-forth going, thus she tightens the space she uses to dance, which restricts her movements, so she doesn't look as good. The twins use the whole dance floor; they know if you contain yourself in a small space that you won't look as good to the judges. You don't dance to the other dancers. You dance to the judges and the audience.
