This is another one of the Ford Buses I occasionally drive on route. This one is powerful and was also seen in my killer dowel pin video. This one is scheduled to be retired at the end of the school year, but still does routes every day. Please note that the school name has been edited out of the picture.

  • I really like this bus:)

  • Nice clean Ford/BB with air brakes, now that's a find.

  • Do the acoustic ceilings reduce the echoing from noise on the bus? I know when I was in school the 1996 Crowns. 97 Thomas' and 98 Blue Birds had the acoustic ceiling over the driver and front passenger row. And the 99 Amtrans and buses after it was the full acoustic ceiling. And in 99 we had a brand new bus with the full acoustic ceiling then one week we had a 1988 Blue Bird on our route due to a breakdown and the echoing was too heavy.

  • @aeastman16 Never mind

  • 12 or 24-Valve?

  • Was this particular bus assigned to a particular driver during the final year or was it a spare unit? I know Baltimore County assigns buses on permanent runs from when they are brand new until they are 8-9 years old. Then after that they run at least 2 years as spares and once they hit 12 they are retired from the fleet. I think this school year the oldest they have is 2000.

  • This is the type of bus featured in Billy Madison.

  • I guess one dash fan is for the front window and the other is for the driver?

  • wouldnt mine having that and switch engines put a cummins n-14 in it

  • Mmm, love Ford air brakes. :-) Must have been a heck of a bus at the time!
