This is an outright lie. I've spoken with atleast a dozen doctors over the past six months over the current legislation being passed and I have recieved unwavering negative feedback. It hurts doctors, insurers, and patients. We can't rely on bureaucracies to take care of over 300 million people.

We need to reform the doctors pay as well there the ones charging the insurance companies to much for there services.and the reason there malpractice insurance is so much is because they screw up all the time.

Main reason quality universal healthcare is beyond our gov't ability to provide is that bureaucracy by it's nature is inefficient. The old joke about $600 toilet seats and in my experience $24.00 fastener nut, yes a single nut that anyone can buy at Home Depot for 99 cents + tax and have 7 more left in the bag....and the $40 it costs just to process a single purchase order.....

The American people did support the war in Afghanistan when we entered it. Bush approval rating was at 86% when he made the decision to go into Afghanistan - look it up. The American tax payers also supported groups like ACORN going out and registering people to vote - they cut off the faucet when it was outrageoudly apparent that the ACORN folks were using the tax payer funded offices and officials for advice on how to conduct underground minor child sexual slavery, prostitution, etc.

I work with several doctors (no, I'm not in the insurance or medical field). Feel free to ask your doc what he/she thinks if you really want to know. But, by your writing, I can see that it is much easier to write uneducated opionions based on emotion instead of actually looking deeper. Oh, and like Obama, you need to make sure there is a 'bad guy' to blame (insurance companies, the rich....). Lame.

I agree, stop the wasteful spending.

The taxes we pay are "SUPPORTED BY THE AMERICAN PEOPLE AS THEY OVERWHELMINGLY AGREED AND SUPPORTED WHAT THE TAX DOLLARS WOULD GO TO " ?

Ahh .. I won't even touch this one!

But it's charming to hear that you believe the American People "massively supported" tax money going to Acorn. (Or to war.)

The all-caps add a classy touch, to be sure.

Ripley, do you even read the posts before blabber on?

The word, "unsustainable" means that the overhaul of the whole system CANNOT be financially supported over even a short amount of time. MA has tried a lighter version of the same plan and it is draining resources and already causing waiting lists.

Yes, people using the ER as primary care is a problem, but let's not 'destroy the car because it has a flat tire' (metaphor)

what part of you already pay for it don't you seem to grasp ?

by those using the ER you are charged MORE than you would be via taxes. the hospital charges more for that aspirin to the insurance companies and off their taxes and the insurance companies bloat that price onto your premiums ! a 1$ aspirin has become a 7$ one.

Of course people connected to the insurance industry like many politicians are and the industry itself don't want cheaper or change. it means less money for them.
