"The Zwerchhau breaks all downward strikes made from above. Do it like this: If he strikes an Oberhau at your head, jump to his left side with your right foot. While you jump, turn your sword so that your hilt is high in front of your head and your thumb is down on the flat of the blade and strike at his left side with your short edge. So you catch his strike with your hilt and hit him simultaneously on the head." (Ringeck ff. 27r-v). Demonstrators: Hugh Knight and Chris Bertell. Camera: Chad Cordero.

@11Kralle You're only error free in the sense that you *still* haven't posted why my supposed mistakes are. And we both know you havne't done that because you *can't*.
And I'm pretty sure about this technique, yes. But I'm not going to admit an error in *any* technique when someone just says "it's wrong." You need to show specifics, and you need to support them with documentation. you have not done this. I told you, go look at my blog and you will find that I *publish* my mistakes.

Luckily, I cant afford to make those errors - the manual remain german (...und darin bin ich fehlerfrei.)
I still wonder: after my posting of comments the youtube tell me `your comment has still to be allowed´ (in german...) and than, you allow it? You must be really sure about yourself! Hasnt there ever been someone, who made you doubt that certain attitude youve obviously got? I think, you like this on a pathetic level of boredom. I go and leave you now with that good feeling!

@11Kralle LOL! You *still* can't point to anything wrong! God, I am *so* sick and tired of uneducated little twits sitting behind their little computers and spouting off about things they don't understand. And then to have such intellectual dishonesty that they can't even admit their claims were made in ignorance--that's the worst part.
Again, show me what is incorrect about that video, with documentation, or else admit you don't know what you're talking about and shut up.

If I get it right. The error seem to be your trust into the translation. The point you asked from me to tell what was wrong is thereby answered - and that from the beginning of our friedly discourse. The final error is still the existenceof that video and your assumption of a possible grade of correctness. The worst thing - and thats why I dont bother shutting up - that people like you mislead searching fencers, who get false shortcuts whilst diligence would do the trick.

@11Kralle No, insults (these are not curses--clearly *you* don't understand the language) are not the limit of my verbal horizon; they merely add spice.
And you *still* haven't posted where the mistake(s) is/are in that video. Either list them, with documentation as to why they're wrong, or admit you don't know what you're talking about and shut up.

Your world must be one fine place... Seeing how less you understand to read my comments is a plain proof for the quality of your reading-skills - and there is the german language not even counted in.
I think, you dont even know what those (so-called) insults `moron´ and `idiot´ mean! How could I insult someone I actually dont even know? Isnt your use of cursewords just a display of your verbal horizon? Maybe I hit your harder, than I expected in the first place, sad as it is.

@11Kralle I don't need to make a translation into High German, it's been done, and it matches what I wrote here. If I'm wrong, show me where my error lies--you made the claim, now prove it. None of us thinks we're perfect, and I publish my errors on my blog for all to see, but this play is pretty well understood.
But let's not worry about all the other translations. Come on, you're the expert, show me a substantive error in this video. If you can't, then shut up.

Im back - as wished - and must confess: your self-confidence is astonishing (do you sleep with your sword on your side?) If you want to convince me, make a good translation from mid-german into highgerman. I have red most of those moronic (using your expression) publication about medieval fencing-sources and until now I havent seen a single one, which wasnt flawed. I state again: you cant be right! Its not about `this and that is wrong´ its still `it cant be prooved right´...

@MrMRwhitaker If you believe that, then your knowledge of swordsmanship is as bad as your manners and your writing, neither of which is suited for someone who has left elementary school. Moreover, from looking at your posted free play video, I should think you'd be a lot more concerned about actually studying this art before you'd *ever* dare to comment on someone else's performance of it.
