Part one of three, of this 1966 episode of "''Truth or Consequences" hosted by Bob Barker. This unusual episode is from the first-run syndication edition, and as such had a shorter running time than "network" shows of the time.

  • Nice video of Bob Barker in his famous "Truth or Consequences" TV show b4 he did his famous "Price is Right" TV show. I remember watching this with Bob Barker a long time ago-and I won't say when-LOL-It looked like a very funny and fun show 2 watch. Any1 here know if this was a game show like the "Price is Right"?

  • when game show were fun and personable

  • Showing my age here; this was taped the year I was born! Bob Barker looked quite youthful here @ almost 43 years of age! I haven't seen "Truth or Consequences" since I was a little tyke. Bob was still hosting "ToC" when he began hosting "The (New) Price is Right.". Does anyone know the exact air date of this episode of "ToC"? Thanks for posting this!

    Bravo, Bob Barker!

  • @megamanmaniac I was thinking the same thing...nowadays, a stunt with someone from the studio audience would not be done for fear of a lawsuit to the host, the show, or the network.

  • Those stage curtains look similar to the fabric used to cover the pillows/beds in the USS Enterprise sick bay.*

    * Star Trek

  • The guy to the left would not be considered overweight in today's times.

  • Mr. Belding!!

  • It probably had a shorter running time because the Primetime Access Rule hadn't been put in place yet. I guess you could call this a filler program for that time. The rule wasn't put in place until 1971.

  • Depends had not been invented yet for that sawmill worker.
