Why is China swallowing up millions of Western jobs? How can Beijing compete so successfully on the global market when all around Europe, manufacturing plants are closing? The Phillips factory in Hasselt once employed thousands of people. But as the market shrank, they started outsourcing jobs further East. We follow laid-off worker Carine to China and Eastern Europe as she tries to find out why her job disappeared.

  • @WolYou Ford also forgot this.We can't ever again buy a new truck; nor can the people that now do our jobs. We just move from apartment to apartment and from one temp job to another. The government even wants to tax us on our old house (that the bank just took in foreclosure). The tax on this house loan will be about 10 percent more than we make in a year! How do we survive? Now we can't even go back to old country; just trapped in America where no pay jobs are taxed higher than you make.

  • china is already getting too expensive to exploit, wages in china has increased 30% in the last few years due to economic growth and high demand for labour, they're moving to vietnam now.

  • Its all about keeping the world in disorder so the rich can run things.

  • @KunsanMom maybe you should not have defaulted on your loan. I love these deadbeats who ruined it for everyone else and now blame the government for their wrongdoing.

  • @jaymonic I like that quote, it explains what's going on

  • @KunsanMom Hi Mom. Just keep davening; ...

  • Once the whole world has been exploited, maybe all the people can make a livable wage, and not have there job exported.

  • The ancient proverb was actually 'Give a man to fish, he will eat for a day; teach a man to fish and he will sit on a boat and drink beer all day.'

  • US driven opération, it's difficult to create chaos without tearing apart order, isn't it ? Old world may burn, new world may burn too, what will remain undevastated above ashes ?

  • Dennizis---"like I said", my ass, Confucius is the one that said, "Give a man a fish ,he will eat it for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a life time." That's one of Confucius most famous proverbs. You straight took credit for that....you are a tool......

  • but its problem of your government not falut of hungarians, polish or africans... Rich people in London maikng money on investing in eastern europe and other non-european countries and your prime minister agree on that so...problem has to be solved within the UK dont blame others to try to make their lives better.
