With all due respect, frio109, Obama does have a "populist" agenda, but that's just his public face. Like all other politicians, Dem or Repub, it's all about getting as much money as they can regardless of how it affects us, the people. Different faces every 4-8 years, different "agendas," same motivation: money. Don't be fooled!

You are correct in that regardless who is in office. They don't really care about us. Power corrupts. I don't even think it is about the money anymore. No doubt some of them are still bought off by money but, I think we are entering a time beyond that. Uh, actually the phrase called the End of Times. Things seem to be quickening and look around you and you can see the signs.

I meant "populist," as in "appealing to the common people." Health care reform certainly appeals to common people as opposed to the elite. But Obama also received more defense contractor contributions than McCain, so we'll stay in war, no matter what he says. He's being paid to keep us in war, as he's being paid to represent corporate interests. Anyone wonder why Clinton signed NAFTA? Or why Hillary changed her tune re: health care? Corporate money.

I think the polls show the common people don't want the Government running their health care. Everyone knows that nothing is free. This is a massive tax scam. We will be force to pay for years before we even see one benefit. The Bureaucracy of the Health Bill will be enormous. That means more wasted dollars. This will be a disaster and lie. Look at the lie they have been feeding us about Global Warming.
