@THEQIR she cut her hair was because the girl that she was fighting boyfriend said it looked good on her so she cut it all off and that was the reason why they were fighting. The book explained that. Too bad they didn't in the movie.

Starr had every right to be angry at Astrid for having sex with Ray, because what Astrid did was incredibly wrong. However, Starr took her rage to the extreme when she shot Astrid. There is no excuse for what Starr did, and even though she was very upset, it does not make shooting Astrid okay. She never should have done it, at all. The woman clearly needs to be locked in a mental institution, placed in a strait jacket and possibly on medication.

this drunken crazy white bitch has a gun & has kids in her care and child welfare didn't know she's a heavy drinker plus has a loaded gun...then she takes a pop shot at Astrid and then Ray & Star takes off leaving her to bleed to death, but astrid was pretty lucky that little boy saved her. That woman "Star" should be charged with: "Reckless Child Endangerment", "Assault with a Deadly Weapon" & "Attempetd Murder".
