Hi there...only just seen your note. I'm doing our family history...can you tell me approx when Basil died, and just generally, anything about him?? My grandmother was his sister.

I loved Ted Heath, but this clip is an embarrassment. It's like so many of those Hollywood music scenes having nothing to do with the band. Does anyone know where I can find some good videos of the Heath band?

Basil was a tremendous guy, had the good fortune of playing alongside him, toward the end of his life. A true gentleman.

The film is not really about music. It is a drama about the lives of young people who happen to be customers of their local dance hall. The clip is meant simply to be amusing - do try to cheer up. I don’t know of any DVDs of the Ted Heath band available at present (July 2011).
