This video shows me going through the Florida weigh station on I-10 eastbound (just before I-75). Steps for going through a weigh station.. 1. Florida has "rolling scales" in their weigh stations, the speed limit for crossing them is 45 mph. When you roll over them, you will get a signal to STAY LEFT, (weight ok, proceed back to interstate highway) or STAY RIGHT (cross the full platform scale). 2. In my case, my total truck's weight was 78,780 so I was heavy, and got the arrow to go right. 3. I am slowing using jake brake to prepare to stop before entering the scale. 4. I enter the scale, and stop. 5. The weights STEER AXLE, DRIVE AXLES, TRAILER AXLES, AND TOTAL VEHICLE WEIGHTS ARE DISPLAYED, AND ARE VERIFIED BY STATE WEIGHMASTER INSIDE WEIGH STATION. 6. I receive a green light to proceed back to the highway, and I'm back on my way... ENJOY!!

  • You may also want to add that drivers can spend the night at most of the scales in Florida without having to worry about being woken up for an inspection. I've done that a few times and I've never been woken up by a officer. There are also bathrooms and a vending machine back there as well.

  • @woodencoasterfan i never sleep in rest areas, or scales.. you are asking for it if you do.. you are on state property, and they can do that...

  • You need to ammend your description to say that there are signs stating that drivers must maintain 45mph when crossing over the rolling scales.

  • @woodencoasterfan lol i was DEAD ON 45! lol

  • 0:23 through 0:25 does that sound mean your gearing down?

  • @379peterbilt530 yes, downshifting with engine braking..

  • @stupidcrazyshow they wont fire you for being overweight.. unless you get a HUGE fine.......

  • @studpuppy69 there is no sign at the scales that say no engine brakes. mine were quiet anyway..

  • @NShighnoser We American truckers have whats called "pre-pass"If you have one on your windshield, and you approach the weigh station, you will get a green light and it will beep on the unit if 1,your weight is good 2. if your company is in good standing with the DOT.get a green light, and you can by-pass an open weigh station. If the red light flashes on the unit mounted on the windshield, must go to the scale station.besides that, you must enter an open weigh station.

  • @rchavez290 the vid did not stop... but if you notice, i was in 2nd gear before i stopped, and i also stopped smoothly.. slamming on brakes on the scale is a no-no..

  • @runninnekkid yea, a couple of times..

  • @studpuppy69 i was a little rough on the downshifting, i admit.. but i was making the payments on the truck, lol

  • @379peterbilt530 nah, i dont put music with my vids. just engine noise...
