Most delicious one pot meal from Karnataka, South India. htt//:blog.rayasams.com for elaborate video and printable recipes. Authentic recipe from my ammamma. Follow step by step instructions exactly and your whole house will be filled with delicious ghee smell and the bisibele bath will make your mouth water. Bite into the highly flavour infused vegetables and you will fall in love with veggies all over again. Once you get hooked to this dish, you'll make it over and over. Watch the video several times to understand all the intricate details. . This is one of my ammamma's signature dishes. Proud to be sharing it with the world, and relieved that I am passing this on to future generations!!! You're Welcome!!

  • I loved your recipe. I am wondering if you included the sambar powder ingradients(like chana dal, urad dal etc) when you were listing the ingredients? I am little confused. Also, I want to know if We can replace this powder with store-bought sambar powder instead of preparing the sambar powder?

  • @TheHeytheregirl Please check my blog for the recipe dear. I'm sure I answered all your questions there. ;)

  • Good one.... but I found it difficult in preparing... am a bachelor and an amateur in Cooking... vl try, try try and try until i get it perfect.... thanx for the recipe... :-)

All the best for the future recipes...

  • @computiser This is a tough dish to make even for seasoned cooks. I've done my best on the blog to help make this dish more easily. To skip grinding, substitute with garam masala + sambar masala + ready made bisi bele bath masala. Microwave veggies. For 1 cup rice-dal (cooked) use 1/2 tsp of each masala above.

  • love your presentations and recipes. definetely going to try them.
