Outlander (15) ***

AN alien spaceship carrying the surprisingly human Kainan (Mim Caviezel) crash lands in 8th century Norway. Despite a scarily impressive monster and stunning scenery, the cast, including John Hurt and Sophia Myles, is better than the cliched film.

Dear Hollywood. Vikings were called things such as Erik, Harald, Gunnar etc. Not Boromir, Wulfric or Hrothgar. Just saying. If you want it to sound cool you could throw in a title as they did eg Erik the red or Harald bluetooth.
