  • I'm currently learning this piece, I love the tempo and feel of the rubato here. Ashkenazy's interpretation always seemed too fast to me, at this tempo the beautiful sonorities in this piece seem to breathe better.

Most of all, making a piece like this sound this easy is a feat in itself. It is one thing to 'play' it and another to play it like this. Fabulous.

    Thank you for posting.

  • Living Rachmaninov! Thanks, Peter! You're not just great pianist, but also a wonderful musician, you just penetrate in the meaning of Racmaninov's music. Great musical example for many many others... Привет из России (Саратов)

  • This is one of the most beautiful interpretations of this etude I have heard so far. Well done. You're creating the sound which makes Rachmaninoff so special. This is a gift. Thank you.

  • I like this interpretation. Very fine and beautiful expression. Great !

  • isigtiger,

Google "IMSLP", then go to the petrucci music library. I was so happy when I found that site; better than finding gold!

Speaking of which, this is beautiful- it just flows out as it should be, without being forced or analysed. Spontaneous but perfectly correct, and I love it.

  • I love this piece D= If anyone knows where I could possibly download the sheet music, that'd be absolutely magnificent. xD This is my favorite piece by Rachmaninoff! =D

  • very naturally and musically

  • super
