Yes this is controlled via an app in the app store called mrmr. Best of all its free (or at least it was when I downloaded it) and its open source. One the robot end there is a wifi router connected to a microcontroller with an ethernet interface. The only custom code I had to write was on the microcontroller.

is this an app available on the app store? What do you use for the receiver and is your servo serial or pwm?

Yes there are at 4 apps avaiable via the app store. The one I am currently using is called mrmr and is free and open source.
