This tune marked Casey's second recorded performance with the band; what an amazing voice! I opted to play the intro riff without 'chicking' 8ths on the pedal hi-hat for more power. It's all BRUTALLY difficult to play, heh.

Do you guys/gals prefer this angle or the TFO angle?

Next up is "Though"!

Tempo = 110 BPM

Disclaimer: In an attempt to stave off potential ignorant comments as I've received in the past, I felt the need for this nigh preposterous disclaimer. I am doing this for myself and for the sake of posterity. I put countless hours into these parts (composing, practicing, etc.) and wish to share them with everyone. I am in no way bitter or regretful; much on the contrary, I share a mutual friendship with everyone in Periphery and intend to keep it that way. Enjoy the videos!

  • holy shit dude nice chops!!

  • @dustinleblancrock that might be partly true because I don't think their current drummer plays all the ghost notes that Travis plays on this song

  • I love the ghosted snare in this song, when you listen to the album version it almost feels like your imagining it!

  • @TehJaytius The magnums are those giant walnut ones for marching snare I thought. Those are too heavy for me haha. I just started using Dave Weckl original signature sticks since they just came out with the wood tipped ones and they seem to be perfect for about anything I've found out, from playing jazz ballads to metalcore type styles. The DW evolutions are good for lighter playing too.

  • @PercussivePiracy He used to use Mike Mangini's signature stick; although a year or two ago he started using Vic Firth MS4 magnums. I'd recommend trying something like Thomas Lang's sticks (or a similarly heavy model) before you try the magnums though, the heavy sticks are a killer on your grip muscles before you get used to them. Hope this helps.

  • amazing job love your tone
