Al Jazeera reviews the global October 15 protests being held in cities across the world to express solidarity with New York's "Occupy Wall Street" movement.

The day of coordinated action began in Australia and New Zealand, as major Asian cities Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei and Hong Kong join in.

Josh Murphy, a reporter at Australian broadcaster Channel 10, reports from Sydney on the turnout the demonstrations have seen there.

  • This has really blown up! worldwide now?! these banksters are in trouble and things are only going to get worse as times goes on.

  • What's with all the flaming?

  • @neordinarus Thank you... It is a passion I think most of the world shares with me against morons like yourself. We have all learned a lesson from your stupidity.

It was fun owning your ass. XOXO : P

  • @gorrellp Ok, I've got your message, "don't do business with Americans" :D also I enjoy your passionate angriness, keep doing good job :D

  • And those #15o protests were organised months ago as the people of Europe gear up to fight against the neoliberal policies imposed on them by the politicians schooled in American economi ideologies, the American policies of the world bank and the IMF. They were not organised to express solidarity with Americans. How could they have been? The Americans only just decided to get off their backsides a month ago. not last year, and not for most of this year.

    Stop perpetuating myths.

  • Oh for goodness sake Al Jazeera. You are an experienced organisation. You've already reported on the the UK students demonstrations, their occupations, the protests all across continental Europe and MENA. You should know these protests are not 'occupy' they are #15o

Unless of course you are joining with the rotten American and British media in their efforts to wipe out the last three years of history and are intent on pretending that if it does not come form the US then it is worthless.
