Correctly spaced dive kick allows Rufus to mixup between block strings and throws since the opponent is either in block or hit stun, so they shouldn't be able to toss out normals to beat followups after the dive.

you are right about that but srk are not my only problem. I seem to be having a hard time understanding how his dive kick game works cuz when I try it I get beat out by something. When I watch these vids I see players allowing rufus to go into a throw or just do a block string after his dives. For me however I get thrown or beat out clean by normals or specials before I can even follow thru with my combo after the dive. I dunno I just cant seem to get it.

People at this level don't do unsafe moves on wakeup like that. It might work once, but then the other player will bait it out and punish them for it.

If you keep getting hit by a wakeup srk when you dive kick, try doing it earlier so you can block the srk, then do hp -> galactic tornado or lk -> hk -> ultra if you have it.

Once you punish them for it, they won't use it as much unless they are complete idiots.

great match I really need to improve my rufus something I was wondering tho. Couldn't that ryu player wakeup DP some of tho dive kicks? cuz everytime I try to dive in on a ryu thats getting up I get a DP to the face unless its a cross over and sometimes that dont work.
