ホンダの古い発電機です。
1966年製、昭和41年製です。

レストアがほぼ完了してきた時に撮影したもので
約４年ぐらい前のビデオ画像です。
今日、ビデオテープを見つけました。(*^｡^*)

E80はバイメタル式(膨張率の違う２種類の金属を張り合わせた)オートチョークが使われています。
マニュアルではマイナス１０度以下でなければ
ガバナーコントロールノブ（スロットルノブ）を引いた手動でのチョークを意識する必要はないとなっています。
たしかにガバナーコントロールノブを引くと強制的にチョークがかかり
押すと戻りますが、どんなに冷えていてもノブを引いて強制チョーク状態にした事はないなぁ。
でもこのオートチョーク、オートじゃなくて手動でコントロールしたい時の方が多いです。(^^ゞ
E80豆知識その１でした。

当日はまだ寒く初冬。
空気は冷えていてスロットルを戻したところで
ちょっと失火気味ですが、
原因はポイントとコンデンサです。
現在はレストア済みです。

ポイントは接点を研磨して点火時期を合わせているのですが
点火時期で調整するとポイントがかなり開くので（パカパカパカっと大げさに動きます）高回転になるとミスファイアが頻発。
開き具合のクリアランスで合わせると点火時期が狂って始動しない。

悩んだすえにポイントのヒールを削って対処しています。
このポイント、手に入らないんだよなぁ。
モンキーのポイントと向きが逆なだけの気がするので再生できるか試してみるかな。
コンデンサはポイントの接点間で火花が多く発生していたので交換。
今は調子よいです。

This was the smallest generator Honda ever made. This tiny thing produces 80w at 100VAC 180Hz, has a 21.2cc L-head four-stroke engine which makes 1/4hp at 4000rpm and weighs 8kg/12lb. It was designed to power a small TV or radio. It actually shipped with a small fuel bottle which could be carried in your pocket. The first model made only 40w, but this model makes 80w and a later one produced 100w.

Hi Z......,

I live in Newfoundland, The Far East. I'm not sure what I want to do with this machine. we bought a house five years ago and it was in the basement when we moved in. Been too busy to give it much attention really. I think the fuel tank may have a leak as the one time I filled it the gas seemed to run right through. But it does have plenty of compression. What do you think it's worth ?

I have this Generator in red, In very good, i believe almost unused condition as i am in the U.K and we have a three pin plug system, but have had it working with a continental adaptor. I had it listed on E-bay but did not have it advertised worldwide but i am going to relist in a few weeks.
