Electric motors are the most advanced motors in the world, they only have one moving part vs however many moving parts an internal combustion engine has, the entire rev range of an electric motor is the power band, giving you instant torque and crazy acceleration, they can last for more than 25 years, and they are very effecient, all this and they dont have to pollute if suppressed technologies were allowed to flow into the market place.

As for gas companies, there motto is "if it makes dollars it makes sense(cents)". as for americans we are just sheep that get herded into buying things.

Electric is the way to go for drag racing.......more volts = more power......only has to go a quarter mile......a motor with one moving part......and you dot have to rebuild it every second run.....to tune it ..just plug in the laptop.

You make the assumption that by the time electric cars made it en masse to the market we would still be using mostly non renewable resources to power them, which may or may not be true, and the electric car may never see the mass production either.

I never understand people against electric cars, they always use todays technology to argue against future technology.

@electricityfan actually electric cars do pollute quit a bit because when you plug that car in your pulling electricity from the american power grid witch is roughly 75 to 85 percent fed by coal power if evry one gets electric cars the demand for electricity will go up witch means you know it more demand foe burning coal witch is a huge pollutant unless we go to a renewable resource

@electricityfan i agreed all that, but electric motor have some disavantage too like expensive efficiant batteries , power to weight cuz a engine that produce 600hp more will be more heavy than a gasoline one , but beside that time will make them really better and better and they'll surpass these disavantages
