HD: Riding A Bicycle vs A Motorcycle (1 of 2: Bicycle)

I decided to head downtown and experience riding as a cyclist. Since there's so much fuss between cars and bicycles here in Toronto, I might as well try it out first hand.

Part one: I strap my HD camera on the handlebars of the bicycle and ride down Yonge St, the main and longest road in the city. I turn around near the bottom of the road, just before the lake, and ride back up, but my endurance isn't what it used to be, so I died out one third the way up and walked the rest.

Funny thing, on my motorcycle, I speed and do dangerous stuff, but on a bicycle, I find myself way more reckless and aggressive! I weaved in/out of traffic, disobeyed signs/lights, cutoff cars/people. I guess cuz I felt I could go/do anything.

I live in Portland, and I'm afraid to take my car downtown. The whole place is swarming with bicyclists, and they don't give a shit for anyone. When it's convenient to fact like a car, they'll do that. If it's convenient to act like a pedestrian, they'll do that. And meanwhile, I'm in the car petrified that I'll hit one at 2mph and send him flying, and of course it'll be MY fault in court. And you just KNOW that no jury in Portland is going to sympathize with ANYONE except a bike rider.

i ride down town all the time i started riding to the island when i was 5 (which for me is like a 30 minute bike ride) u just need to take caution and dont be a smart ass and try and weave thats when u get hit
