If you have a Tele or Les Paul and want a noiseless super clear pickup, the SD ZMAX is your best bet. This is a new twist on an old design, no one else makes one like this, guaranteed. Although I show it with a flat top cover, you can order it with adjustable screws for slight extra charge. I do one pickup that is even more clear than this one, which is the SL Tribute bucker which has no adjustable poles, so check that one out if you want single coil tones and no noise in a neck pickup for bucker mounting.
Enjoy,
Dave Stephens

  • I honestly don't know except that it would very clear with ability to cut through the mix as it does have some edge to it. No effects, I played thru a '73 Silverface Vibrolux, and plugged the amp into a Celestion Gold Alnico 12" speaker for even more sparkly tones. This pickup is brand new and only tried 2 prototype versions last weekend, this is the one I liked the best. In a Tele in middle position it sure would give you a sweet middle pos tone similar to stock single coil neck would.

  • I'm curious. What do you think this would sound like in a telecaster in the neck position? Its a fabulous pick-up, BTW. I'm assuming its through something transparent like a Fender amp with no effects?
