I never believed that God will love me if I am good enough. I DO believe that failure to conform to God's character will result in discipline.

and cross reference that information with Christians doctrine (Scripture) and see if what he said is true or not.

I think there many be some confusion here. The belief systems that Pastor Mark recited at the end of this video are not Christians in light of Scripture, meaning they are based upob false teachings that are against the Word of God. Therefore he is not bashing Christians. Mormons and Jehovah Witness has theology that is based on works. If faith is by works then the act Christ did on the cross is void. I would invite to do research on the groups he listed and

@europeanbamf That is what I think and I have think I have Biblical basis for it. But I am human. And I think it is a matter for discussion. There are more nuances to what I said but this youtube and it has its limits. But I would point you or anyone else to john 3:16, Romans 5:8, and Ephesians 1. Eph. 1 is interesting because it states How God the Father predestined us to adopted in Christ and to lavish us with grace. I say he loved us even while we were siners.

@MrBlackhaw Are you implying that we EITHER take your both/and view to be true OR nothing else?

Plus, I feel for Mark to say that Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, etc. are out there trying to earn their way to heaven doing what they feel is the Lord's work for no money , while he collects a paycheck bashing others in the name of Christ is pretty ............. oh well, you get the picture.

I don't disagree with his comments regarding not being able to earn your way to heaven with works. But, he saying no one should go on a mission or make a sacrifice because that means they are trying to earn their way to heaven? People who do good works know His grace is all that is needed. They give of themselves because they love Him, not to get a GOLD STAR. It is ok to teach you can't earn your way to heaven. It is not ok to deceive others about their intentions regarding what they do.
I think sometimes we treat God (the Father especially) like he is mono-emotional. Like he either loves or hates but never both. I think the Bible is clear that the Father is very angry not just at sin but at sinners who have not out their faith in Christ. But God the Father love his elect so much to send Jesus to save his elect who are sinners. So he is very angry at them but also loves them. It is a both and and not an either or.

The Bible clearly teaches that there are children of God and children of the Devil. (John 8:44 and 1 John 3:10) Only those who have believed in Jesus Christ are God's children.
Yes, you're right. God doesn't hate his sons, but their actions. Unbelievers aren't God's sons, but they're children of the devil. Like I said earlier, John 3:36 says:
"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him."
