As someone who has struggled with headaches, specifically Migraines and didn't find relief with western medications, I am a testament to genuine relief with holistic therapies. Partly as a result of better results, I became a devoted student of holistic therapies, focusing in on what is genuine in preventive care and lifestyle changes. I want to make sure that people who wish to utilize options and are paying insurance premiums get to choose coverage that offers services they want to utilize--
while the economy takes advantage of the lower cost in effective results from so much of holistic medicine. In British Colombia, for example, Acupuncturist, Midwives and other holistic medicine practitioners are options that often have better outcomes than traditional western approaches, yet may not be covered in some of the US health care services being discussed. Yet wouldn't these alternative practitioners help both the problems of efficiency and medical staffing shortages we are facing? ? My migraine medication (an injectable) could cost up to 2,000 a month-- these alternative options are a fraction of the cost and if someone wants them for care they are usually out of luck.
