@halloweenfriday A lot of people who have seen Silence of the Lambs probably haven't seen Manhunter. This considering the casual audience of course.

I think they're both excellent films with their own unique elements to them. I'm partial to Manhunter though.

This movie along with TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A were brilliant William Petersen movies. Wonder why he kind of disappeared into t.v after them.

@CSB Remember, SILENCE was a sequal to MANHUNTER. I have read Thomas Harris's books. The remake to MANHUNTER, is RED DRAGON, from which MANHUNTER is based. They remade MANHUNTER in keeping with Anthony Hopkins's portrayl of the character. MANHUNTER was a better movie than RED DREAGON because of the atmosphere that Michael Mann infused into the movie and the style of filmaker he is, RED DRAGON was way less intense, not as moody nor atmospheric.
