If you play tug-of-war with your dog the right way, you will not only develop a closer connection with your dog, but you will also have a great way to capture your dog's attention in high-intensity moments. In this video (taken from Neil Sattin's DVD set - http://www.naturaldogblog.com/dvds ), Neil Sattin demonstrates how to play tug-of-war with your dog, and explains why it's such a great way to help your dog relax and release stress.

Some people say that you shouldn't play tug of war with your dog. Others say that you can play, but that you should never let your dog win. All of these people are wrong. Tug-of-war - where you let your dog win - is one of the BEST ways to build your relationship with your dog and teach your dog how to trust you when they're all revved up. And to give stressed-out dogs a positive way to chill out - with you.

  • If having dog dominant issues, I'm not sure it's a good idea to let the dog win every time, if at all. Maybe I'm struggling with the prey concept versus acting as another dog. Feedback?

  • Great video , very informal. thank you
