Wonderful stuff! I love Lampeter, thoroughly enjoyed my time there, meeting my future wife and best friend there. I recall taking this walk in deep snow during the winter of 90/91. On another occasion, a friend spotted a 'willo-the-wisp' in the woods seen at 1:25. A truly magical place - thanks for taking the time to put this together!

Thank you. This took me straight back to the early 70s when I used to gaze out of the lecture room windows at Llettytwppa wood during philosophy lectures. The route seems exactly as I remember it, though I expect the trees are stouter now.

thanks. i grew up in cellan and that was like a flashback! the small hillock with the copse on top of it was known as magic mountain when i lived there, not sure if that was due to mushrooms or ley lines, or just hippies! what a pretty area :)

The hill is still known as magic mountain by the students. Not sure about mushrooms, but the rumour is well known.

My guess is Arlene Auger (TDK 1982)....if you do a search, one clue is that it's an unusual translation

I believe the soprano is Auger.
I can't tell you for certain as the music is on my computer in Lampeter [at which I'm not currently present].
Conducted by Simon Rattle.
