Stretching for just over 1.2 years, I got pretty damn flexible in about 5 months i'm 250lbs

I stretch every day or 3 days for at least 20 to 90 min... warm up first.

I have been to 2 Eddie bravo seminars in 2008

I have gotten the chance to meet amazing and very nice people that I can call my friends. and that's because of grappling in general.

I was not born flexible and had back problems before the stretching began, now I am pain free.

just messing around testing my limits.

my point is that it doesn't take that much time to get flexible.

it's the other stuff like cardio and training that's way hard.

  • not bad need to work your right leg a little more i noticed you mouthed "ouch" when putting the leg over your head

  • @chambers712 actually i took an elblow to the knee. i don't think it was the lack of flexibility.

  • all i have to say is one thing... you have given me hope that i can be flexible please bro tell me how you did this? i am only able to get my foot to my face i cant put it behind my head?

  • @owltree27 do you have eddies rubber guard book?

it lays out his whole stretching routine

i don't stretch like i use to but i still use eddie's routine is a bible to me.

i also use some of the stretches from the ryan hall video that i uploaded

stuff takes time. depends how much hours you put in per week!!!

you are going to set some time aside. at least 30 min or more everyday or 3-4 days

another good idea is to stretch after your training

use eddie's routine in his rubber guard book

  • IT'S TITTTTTTIESSSSSSS!!!

  • hahaaa, titties :). No offence dude, but u look like the guy from the TUF show. Great flexibility though, I tried to get to lotus position without warmup. I used brute forc to get my legs in position. With first 2 attempts i succeeded, but with third try and broke something in my right knee cuz I put it too close the on the left knee and not close to my hip. After I get my knee fixed i will get back to stretching cuz I want to get as flexible as u are.

  • should you do this stretch every day?

  • you should consider uploading a new video since this one is almost three years old.

  • how long should you hold each stretch for?

  • Incredibly inspiring video dude, glad it came up after I was watching Eddie Bravo's Rubber Guard vid.

For me it's the cardio and weight lifting that's easy (I used to be bigger but have lost a lot of weight mostly by doing cycling), I've always had tight hamstrings and somewhat inflexible hips.

As the other poster said, you have given me hope. I'd love to see some baby step vids that show how to get where you are now.

    Thanks

  • what were the stretches that you started off with to work your way to those kinds of stretches? Or did you just slowly did the same stretches you did on the video?

  • wow, can u triangle choke yourself???

  • Very nice video. I'm a runner myself and I'm working on getting more flexibility. I was wondering what stretches you do and how long do you hold each stretch for? Obviously, the butterfly stretch is a big one...

  • @rubberguard83 hey, i've been practicing rubber guard by myself and i stretch at home, watching tv and stuff and my friends and my dad (my dad is a tkd grandmaster, my mom is a nurse, and my friend is a fitness freak) all say that stretching your knees are bad for you. is it really?
