  • yeah, at least there you take a lift back up

  • To me, part of the draw of backcountry skiing is the fact that there are no lifts, no grooming, etc. It's just you and the mountain. It's quiet and peaceful. Hiking back up after a run makes it even more rewarding. Perhaps if you have never been backcountry skiing, you will not be able to relate.

Either way, having to earn your turns certainly makes you appreciate a good ski lift a lot more!

  • dude just ski at sugar loaf and sunday river....

  • Sunday River is a great ski area an Sugarloaf is too I'm sure (I've never been there), but there's no way they have terrain like this open this time of year. In fact, I don't believe either one has terrain as steep or challenging as this any time of year!

Also, if you've never skied or visited the Presidential Range, you should. Being able to ski with views like that can't be beat by any ski area anywhere.

  • old school skiing at 0:39?

  • yeah, i agree. the views are great at wildcat.

  • it definately is amazing skiiing there. And it is probably a memorable experience skiing there. But for someone like me who wouldn't want to hike up it. I would rather ski at like saddleback maine or sunday river or sugarloaf. At sugarloaf there is the snowfields and back side which is probably somewhat similar to skiing on mt washington. Also saddleback maine has some intense trails almost above the tree line. Such as muleskinner.

  • Nice. I love that area of the mountain.

  • You just have to know where to go to find the steeps at sugarloaf ;)

  • try getting some shots from below. some mellow music could help you alot as well.

  • certainly a dangerous run for sure

  • I do agree with you, but I personally wouldn't want to climb back up.
