Please note that my selection of these "Romantic Songs" are based ONLY on the melody, since I do not know the languages, Hindi and Urdu. Some of these songs may not be THAT romantic but they are HAPPY songs, according to the melody and picturisation, I believe!
Thank you.
Yuan.

Starring Sharmila Tagore, Rajesh Khanna, Vinod Mehra, Farida Jalal, Abhi Bhattacharya and Madan Puri.

The thought-provoking song 'Chingaari Koi Bhadke' written by Anand Bakshi and sung by Kishore Kumar, is one of the highlights of this classic.

The movie is a remake of a Bengali film Nishipadma (1970) by Arabinda Mukherjee, who wrote screenplay for both the films; it starred Uttam Kumar and Sabitri Chatterjee as leads.

The film portrays the decadence of human values and relationships and contrasts it by presenting an illustrious example of a boy's innocent love for a neighbourhood courtesan.

It was noted for its music by R.D. Burman, numbers sung by famous playback singers like Kishore Kumar, R.D. Burman's father S.D. Burman and Lata Mangeshkar.

Rani Rupmati, also spelt Roopmati [16th Century] was a Hindu Rajput singer of Malwa.
Sultan Bhag Bahadur and Roopmati fell in love with each other and were married according to Muslim and Hindu rites.

Adham Khan was prompted to conquer Mandu partly due to Rupmati's beauty. When Adham Khan marched on the fort Bhag Bahadur met him with his small force and was defeated, Roopmati poisoned herself to death.

Mir Jafar Ali's copy ultimately passed to Mehbub Ali of Delhi and after his death in 1831 passed to a lady of Delhi. Jemadar Inayat Ali of Bhopal brought this manuscript from her to Agra.

This manuscript later reached C.E. Luard and translated into English by L.M. Crump under the title, The Lady of the Lotus: Rupmati, Queen of Mandu: A Strange Tale of Faithfulness in 1926. This manuscript has a collection of twelve dohas, ten kavitas and three sawaiyas of Rupmati...........
