When Obama was just an underdog, Kerry became the 1st major political figure to endorse him, and this gave Obama the strength & credibility to be taken as a serious contender for President.
In return, Kerry was supposed to be appointed Secretary of Defense.
Bob Gates was just supposed to stay on temporarily, and retire after 6 months to a year. but Gates developed a strong working relationship with Obama, decided ot stay on longer, and Kerry got cheated out of his big promotion.

John Kerry is absolutely right in endorsing Barack Obama! Barack Obama is the right man to become the President of The United States of America! Barack Obama will bring the positive changes to America and the world and will move us all forward progressively! I am a proud American and a proud Democrat and my vote will definately go to Barack Obama! Let's make the right choice, people!!
