We took half a day off to play in the dunes on one of our Sahara Expeditions. We made it over the dune earlier but can't do it again for the camera! Don't you hate that?

I am running a V8 petrol with Manual 5 speed. Yeah I have driven diesel and yes diesel acts differently then petrol. Good thing u pointed out that bigger tires mess up the gearing...I was gonna get bigger tires...because we mostly have sandy terrain...as for me I have a company in saudi..we are into multimedia/advertising and Off roadin is my weekend passion. Just love it. how about u dude? what do u do?
Your disco has the 300tdi right, or are you running a V8 with the ZF box? My 92 (200tdi, R380) doesn't have the momentum in 2nd to make it happen. The larger tires make the gearing wrong. I want to change out the ring and pinion to bring it back to normal. What are you doing out in Saudi?
Yes u are right...Its the spirit that counts. U did make it so thats good. I just added my comments because I do this every weekend in Saudi Arabia and I have the exact car (98 Land Rover Discovery) and I always do all my climbing in 2nd and it goes amazing. But nice stuff..would love to do an expedition with u guys sometimes.
Yep, airing down the tires would have helped, but 2nd gear wouldn't. I did get up it in 3rd after this video was taken. We didn't air the tires down because we were in the middle of a 1000 mile Sahara expedition and were just playing around after camp was set up. Next time I hope to record the succesful climb and not the failed one!
