The Grondahl Trombone Concerto performed by soloist Keith Dyrda (was in grade 12 at the time) and accompanied by the University of Manitoba orchestra, conducted by Earl Stafford.
Yeah.. This guy is amazing.. Have you ever seen the music for this piece? It switches intermittently between bass clef and tenor clef, and this soloist plays it perfectly. I'm playing this next year for OSSAA and a few college auditions probably.
He just won the Montreal Symphony concerto competition for youths - wins 8 grand and gets to play with one of the finest orchestras in the world on January 11th.
Keith Dyrda has just got the trombone job with the Canadian Brass !!
