I'm from the US but have not seen our version yet. After watching the UK episodes online, I don't think ours can top it. William H Macy is a fantastic actor, but the rest of the cast (from what I've seen on the ads) are a bit too shiny and perfect for this story. Emmy Rossum better be one high caliber actress to convince me because she looks more like a wealthy socialite, than a poverty stricken kid of drunk, deadbeat parents. Willing to check it out though.

@Redrumhydro That's the point. It's about normal (if slightly rough) people... trust the US to take a plot that doesn't even work for them, then change it into an over-the-top drama. Beautiful, sparkles, typical tasteless American style - thus, ruining it.
