Keep Holding On; Part 24 [So, It Begins]

*Taylor and Mary are at Taylors house*
Taylor- What should I wear?
Mary- *Shrugs* Whatever you wanna wear.
Taylor- *Groans* Come on, Mary. Help me out!
Mary- *Sighs* Fine, but I still am not so sure about this.
Taylor- *Rolls her eyes* Just help me get ready. I need to make sure I look good.
Mary- Why?
Taylor- Uh Is that a trick question?
Mary It just seems to me that youre trying way too hard to impress a guy you dont even know. Or maybe
Taylor- *Hastily* Maybe what?
Mary- *Shakes her head* Nothing.
Taylor- No, I wanna know maybe what?
Mary- Maybe you are trying way too hard to impress a guy youre not supposed to be trying to impress and you know that you shouldnt be trying to impress him but you still go ahead and try.
Taylor- *Staring at her* Um that didnt make sense, what you just said.
Mary- Oh, you know what I mean!
Taylor- *Sighs* Anyways, thats not true!
Mary- Yes, it is.
Taylor- No, its not.
Mary- Yes, it is.
Taylor- No, its not.
Mary *Gets closer to her, staring her in the eye daringly* Yes. It. Is.
Taylor- *Gulps* N-No I-I Ugh.
Mary - *Smirks* I knew I was right. Heck, I always am!
Taylor- *Rolls her eyes; sarcastically* Oh, what a humble peasant.
Mary- *Laughs* But seriously Tay. Do you think its right?
Taylor- No, I know its not. But I just cant help it!
Mary- Then why dont you just tell him and save us all a whole bunch of drama?!
Taylor- Because!
Mary- *Crosses her arms* Because?
Taylor- Because I dont wanna ruin another great friendship. *Sighs*
Mary- I cant even say if youre right or wrong.
*Later on*
*The doorbell rings*
Taylor- I-I think thats them
Mary- *Nods* You ready for this, girl?
Taylor- *Nods; shakes her head* Yes, no, I dont know
Mary- *Chuckles* Well, good luck.
Taylor- *Smiles slightly* Thanks. Youre the best.
Mary- *Smiles back; hugs her* Just be cool.
Taylor- *Takes a deep breath; walks down and opens the door*
Mary- *Watching from the stairs*
Joanie- Hi Taylor!
Alex- *Awkwardly whispers* Hey.
Taylor- Uh Hi guys.
Joanie- *Smiling brightly* So, you ready to go?
Taylor- *Looking at Alex; takes a deep breath and turns to Joanie* Yeah Yeah, I am.
Joanie- Great! Lets go!
Taylor- *Fake smiles*
*Later on when they get to the restaurant and order*
Taylor- *Looking down at her hands which are folded in her lap*
Jake- So, what are you up to these days?
Taylor- *Looks up* Huh? Oh Nothing
Jake- Oh, Ok
Taylor- *Not wanting it to be weird* What about you?
Jake- You know, stuff Past few weeks have not been the greatest for me *His eyes grow sad as he remembers his break-up*
Taylors POV:
Shoot. Wrong thing to ask. Change the subject, Taylor, and fast! So, what do I talk about? Uh Um Ok, so hes a football player, right?

Taylor- So, um hows football going?
Jake- Oh, pretty much the same. Occasional games. *Saying something complicated about football*
A/N: Explanation: I have not got one single idea about how football works other than people kick the ball around trying to get it into the goal. Thus, the name football? :p Sorry!
Taylor- Oh, cool. I guess
Jake- You have no idea what I was just saying, do you? *Chuckles*
Taylor- *Laughs slightly* No, sir.
Jake- Its Ok.
Taylor- Oh, I know. Im still cool, right? *Playful*
Jake- You definitely are.
Taylor- *Smiles* So
Taylors POV:
This guy is pretty cool. That doesnt really change anything about how I feel, but hes pretty Ok.
Alex- *Watching them*
Joanie- So, then I had to—Alex? Alex! ALEX!
Alex- Huh?
Joanie- Are you Ok?
Alex- Yeh, Im fine. Uh Excuse me for a minute *Stands up* go to the bathroom.
Joanie- *Nods; still looking at him weird*
