05b - A Streaming Start! - Pokemon Revolution (Annotated!)

Everyone has to start somewhere! This was my first fight with this threesome, so I make MANY goofy choices. ...And that's okay! I learned from this fight, and beat everyone else that evening.

It also turns out that Monica is a pretty cool person. They contacted me here, saying that they recognised me (by the Dunsparce, no less). Monica has a crazy photographic memory, and broke down the battle play by play well before I posted this video.

Before anyone makes any nasty comments, I'm "Monica", and yes...using Trick Room was a very lame move to make on my part. This is a new team for me too! Also, I'm a very indecisive person...making my decision-making process a very slow one at first. After watching this, I feel so dopey. Once Solrock was gone, though, I felt comfortable.

Anywho, this was a very fun battle! It's more exciting to watch...well, after the first couple of rounds. =P

I'm absolutely dumbstruck. I love and have trained Gastrodon (no rant this time, I'll let you off easy), Solrock, Lunatone, AND Spiritomb and they are each in their own right some of the more tempting picks I'm inclined to try to sic on people because I am so blinded by love for them. I also want to train a Torkoal.

Playing Solrock AND Lunatone in the same battle is gutsy (I'd know), but the impending Sandstorm (or a predicted one based on the roster) probably made it a rather appealing idea.

And Gastrodon... Geez, there's nothing menacing about it in my mind. It's just a nuisance!

wow, you fight just like me dude! I love sandstormers, though i usually use either flygon or armaldo over Aerodactyle. (I know armaldo sucks, but he's just so damn cool...)

You're right. Aerodactyl could have used Crunch....

Oh, that's right. That's one type matchup I keep forgetting about: Rock is ineffective against Ground.

Okay then, I retract what I've been saying. Crunch was the way to go!

I was completely new to the idea of a Choice item, so a mistake like this wasn't too much a big deal. I've learned from it though, and my team is doing a very good job!

Ah, a nice display by both teams. Unfortunately I think you worked yourself into a corner there. Personally I don't think I'll ever use a Choice Item - I need to be able to change things up quickly in case something goes awry. To each his own, though - good match!

The ability to flinch a Pokemon is very tempting. The thing with Rock Slide is that you would have to have a few consecutive flinches in order to knock out Gastrodon because of its ineffectiveness. Since she knows Recover, she could've stalled enough to force Aerodactyl into a Struggle eventually. I think Lunatone's Levitate ultimately screwed everything up. Your Aerodactyl has an excellent moveset, this was just an unfortunate scenario for you. It made me a happy camper, though. *squooshy*
