Prediction: Obama will push for more offshore drilling even after the terrible extent of the Deepwater oil disaster is fully realized.

  • I find it interesting that despite the moratorium on US drilling, the Obama administration is giving money to Mexico to drill in the same region, and giving money to Brazil to drill in even deeper waters off their coast. AND their still has yet to be any criminal charges leveled against the Captain or civilian managers of the Deepwater project. 11 people died. But nobody in the media or government seem to care about that. There is something sinister happening in our country and government.

  • Exactly. Things will continue as usual - despite paying lip service to the current outrage.

  • interesting video. Good points.

  • Great rundown, very succinct.

I would add to your prediction that the U.S. government will give BP money.

  • Obama's just another mindless spokesman for his puppet masters.

There will never be any repercussions against any mass corporation or Israel and if BP wants to open a new drilling site, obama will welcome it with open arms, he has no choice in the matter...

  • Great summary of the fuckup to date, and its likely lack of consequences. With the floodgates for corporate money open, the chances that either party will offend the most profitable companies on earth is exactly nil. The challenge, like with Wall St., is to appear tough as a sop to public opinion while doing nothing substantive that might lead to that entire war chest going to your opponents' re-election fund.

The system is broken and will not fix itself.

  • BP should have their asses prosecuted off for this catastrophe. I vote that the UN hereby initiates "live flaying" as a punishment for a crime of this magnitude just for immediate use on the BP execs.
