The Islamic Online University has launched the worlds first tuition-free, online Bachelor of Arts in Islamic Studies.
This path-breaking initiative plans to utilize the worldwide presence of the Internet and advanced open source online learning technology to bring low-cost, university level Islamic education within reach of anyone on the planet who has access to a computer and the Internet.

Dr Abu Ameenah Bilal Philips is the founder of Islamic Online University. He was born in Jamaica, but grew up in Canada, where he accepted Islam in 1972. He completed a diploma in Arabic and a B.A. from the College of Islamic Disciplines (Usool ad-Deen) at the Islamic University of Madeenah in 1979. At the University of Riyadh, College of Education, he completed a M.A. in Islamic Theology in 1985, and in the department of Islamic Studies at the University of Wales, he completed a Ph.D. in Islamic Theology in 1994.


He is the author of more than 30 books on Islam, besides having translated six others and edited four others while also representing organizations like the Dar al Fatah Press in Sharjah (Director of the Foreign Literature Department), Discover Islam in Dubai (Director), Sharjah TV Channel Two and Satellite (Producer and Presenter of Islamic Programs), Ajman TV Channel Four, and Saudi TV Channel Two. He also appears on Peace TV, which is a 24-hour Islamic satellite TV channel broadcasted to many countries around the world.
