friday, Frank Nobilo actually said this while looking at Rory Mcllroys swing at Dubai, and I quote "That's what great players do, they dip, they compress into the ground"
I am not kidding

Ran out-One Idea I have regarding the head move of these players U have discussed is the idea of hitting beyound the ball. When I let my head follow my torso,I don't get ball bound and swing out much further torwards the target. It feels like I am getting my head ahead of the ball but when I do a mirror analysis I am still behind the ball. But the feel is it fact is it does move and mostly after impact.Any good teaching pros in Boston you know of for a +4

Head going down as the club approaches impact. Scottish pro John Jacobs in his Dr. Golf tape on the swing fundamentals describes this as a feature found in the strong late hitting male tournament player. He also explains that many women go up on their toes in the impact area because they release the club earlier to get more club head speed,

He absolutely traps the golf ball to death. Awesome swing.

@MoeNormanIdeology Wayne is right, sure Folwer has game, but he hasn't sealed the envelope on the tournaments he has been in and tied for the lead on Sunday, plus, Fowler's swing is eventually going to lead to some problems with consistency, and another thing, @ 0:48, how many shots are you going to mishit if you are in that position, vert few

As he's straightening his right elbow, he's pushing with the outside edge of right forefinger thru impact ala' Hogan. Beautiful impact
Great analysis - I have a question .If the "Hitting Area" is so often reffered to as the position we reach n the downswing with the hands close to hip high, retaining the angle. Why don't more golfers just swing to this level and then come back to impact = Mo Norman.I know it is a position more than a final destination, just wanted to get your thoughts.During a range practice I was smoking em just going way inside .5 a typical backswing. I could go more inside not worrying about coming out..

@secretogolf Starting the swing when the shaft is parallel to the ground and the wrists are cocked is a drill commonly used to give the player a feel for what it would be like to make a better takeaway. It makes it easier to pass through better positions later in the swing. Most high level players don't have the takeaway problems that lesser players do, and the additional tempo and timing problems caused by starting the swing from a different place are probably why you never see it done on tv.

You can't base a ryder cup pick on one weekend.

@MoeNormanIdeology How many tournaments has Fowler won?

Agree 100% on swing and Ryder Cup - would have Hoffman instead of Cink if I were USA supporter. What did the TV guys find to say about Charlie's Swing?

@golfbulldog He never hit a bad shot so Johnny didn't have a chance to say anything stupid.
